My name is John Dunaway and I have 26 years of education experience which includes teaching Math and Computers as well as creating and implementing staff development in levels ranging from Middle School to Community College.
In addition to teaching and creating staff developments in local districts, I had the pleasure of working with Cengage TeamUp as a faculty adviser. In this role I traveled around the country as a contract presenter to train customers in support of the sales team. I created and gave presentations on integrating digital tools in the classroom and using active learning to support brain based learning.
In these experiences, I realized how much I enjoy being innovative, helpful and creative. I consider myself a critical thinker who enjoys learning new things, sharing new things and training staff, clients or stakeholders with an outstanding product.
Below you will find samples of presentations and videos.

Video Recording: Staff and Student Training Video
During COVID remote learning, I created videos to help staff and students pivot to online learning with new technology. Staff and students needed technology assistance for many different issues from changing your default browser to more complicated things like turning multiple images into one PDF document to upload for an instructor.
Here is the instructional video I created teaching staff and students to change their default browser to Google Chrome. A more extensive video playlist can be found by clicking the button below: |

Doodly Video Creation: What is Neurofeedback?
I LOVE creating and editing videos while trying to tell a STORY. I have always been enamored with draw videos, so I decided to give it a shot - this video is my first attempt. It tries to give a snapshot description of the non-invasive brain therapy called Neurofeedback. (My wife, Susan, uses this technique in her counseling practice)
I have experience using video recorders and editors, like Screen-Cast-O-Matic, Camtasia and even a bit with Adobe Premier. That experience helped me pick up the concepts fairly quickly as Doodly was new to me. The video isn't perfect, and I'm sure Susan would write script much differently - but it was a quick dive into a new video program - and it was a lot of fun. |

Educator Training: Bridging the Gap of Technology Race
This training I created and presented at four different conferences to at least 300 secondary and college math professors. It was a face-to-face presentation so there is no audio.
At the time of this presentation, these web-based sites and apps were considered new and innovative, many of which have never been seen by the attending instructors. This was created and presented using PREZI. You can view the embedded video to the right - but it is sometimes a little finicky depending on your computer. You can also use the button below to link directly to the presentation. |
