YOU ARE THE CREATOR:  Scale Model Proportion Project

Picture
In this project you will take the role of creator of a scale model problem.  Here are the instructions:

Using Inkflow and Distance Measure Apps, you will create a problem with the following expectations:

1.       Name and hour on first slide (Selfie too if you want!)

2.       Create a picture in Distance Measure of 2 points in Olathe with their distance marked

3.       Use a measure device on the iPad to create a scale:

                           for example 1 inch = 50 meters

4.       Now create a scale model homework math problem based on that information.

For example: “If 1 inches = 50 meters, how far are these two places from each other if they measure 5.5 inches on the map?”

5.       Now solve that problem using a proportion – show the work

6.       Now go back to Distance Measure and measure the Distance in your problem and see how close you were to the actual distance.
